Certain types of cancers may increase the tendency for bleeding gums. But the leading cause is ninety-nine-point nine percent cases or whatever percentage of the time is an infection in the gums.

Most importantly, you cannot feel, see, even know that an infection is there in your gums. But it is causing chronic inflammation, bleeding, and disease. If not treated properly, it can lead to bone loss and possibly eventually, tooth loss. The damage does not stop there; it will compromise your general health as well. So, bleeding gums have to requires proper treatment.

Here in this article, we will talk a little bit about bleeding gums and what you can do at home to help treat them. A lot of people suffer from bleeding gums when they are brushing and flossing.

So, what are the reason behind this?

Often, what you can see is the storage of more plaque in your teeth is creating swelling around the gum tissues. Here you have to do an excellent job of removing the stored plaque from your teeth. Especially the stuff those are stuck between your teeth and gum. The first thing that you have to do at home as home care is brushing and flossing. So, brushing and flossing are critical, and doing these two things will help you eliminate the inflammation that causes the bleeding in your gums. So good brushing habits, good flossing habits are in the first place you can start.

Now you can also use the stuff at home like salt and baking soda. If you mix that up, you can either put a little bit of a concoction right on a toothbrush and brush it around your teeth and your gums. It can help to reduce the swelling that you have around your gums. Eventually, it can reduce the bleeding also.

Another thing that you can use is hydrogen peroxide. You can rinse your mouth with hydrogen peroxide. It increases the amount of oxygen in your mouth and reduces the overall swelling you have. So, it is another option that you can do at home.
